Meet 1 Volunteer Notes & Meet 2 Signups!

Team, huge thank you for an awesome first meet! Everything ran smoothly because of our volunteers (and minimal chaos… which is always the goal).

Volunteer highlights:

  • Martin, Brian, Patricia, and Charlie/Ellie were early, ready, and crushed the 5:45 meeting with the Official
  • Volunteer of the Meet goes to Brian Farkas for touch judging 60+ events straight when 2nd shift volunteer coverage got dicey. Thank you Brian!

A few reminders for next week’s HOME meet:

  • Sign-ups are open-please pick your shifts early to get your preferred assignments. If I can’t get this shifts filled, I’ll have to assign them, and you might get something you don’t want!
  • Very Important: First shift runs from event #1-44. Second shift runs from event #45-86. Older kid parents, we’d love your help on SECOND shift as much as possible so the little kid parents can cover FIRST shift and leave when little kids are done.
  • Each family is required to cover one volunteer shift per meet.
  • If you’re signing up your loving spouse, please also let them know of this exciting opportunity :)
  • Please check in with me when you arrive so I know we’re fully staffed and not just emotionally supported.
  • Timers/touch judges: you are my shining stars! All eyes will be on you, and by that I mean the eyes of our Cobb County official. Friendly reminder that we have to switches sides of the pool as the events change from 25s to 50s. The announcer/official will cue you migrate. Please move efficiently. The more on it we are, the more efficient we can run the meet. We don’t want a cranky official, and also, Brandt will play the Jeopardy music if anyone dawdles. You’ve been warned.

And finally… what a phenomenal first meet. Especially compared to last year’s opener, which featured 60 degrees and pouring rain.

Thanks for putting up with me as I learn the ropes- we are so pumped for our first home meet! The kids (and adults) are gonna have a great time, and I am so grateful for our parent volunteers.
