We are so excited that our swim team season has started!  We had a great first practice yesterday!  It was great to meet all of our swimmers and parents!  If you were not able to make it to practice yesterday we look forward to meeting you soon!  Below are a few notes to recap our parent meeting for those of you that couldn't make it.  Please let us know if you have any questions!

 

• Bags:  You will receive a bag (one per family) that contains team t-shirts for each swimmer and caps (no caps for Junior Team swimmers) along with a Swim Team Calendar and a Parent Info Document.  Please write your child's name inside their t-shirt with a sharpie and also on their swim cap!!  Make sure to keep the Calendar and Parent Info Document handy.. you will refer to it throughout the season!  The Calendar is subject to change and we will communicate those changes as far in advance as possible!
• Calendar Changes:  We have a couple of changes already!  NO PRACTICE THIS FRIDAY, 5/20!  Enjoy your Friday afternoon!  We also just found out that we will not have our final meet of the season due to two teams combining in our division.. we will communicate soon how the last couple of weeks of swim team will work!
• RSVP:  Please RSVP as soon as possible for the swim meets!  It is critical that we know exactly who will be swimming in each meet in order to make our lineup and to fill our volunteer spots!  Click the link at the bottom of this page to RSVP now!
• Volunteering:  We will need everyone's help at all of our meets!  We cannot run a swim meet without the help of parent volunteers!  When you RSVP you can sign up to volunteer at each meet... but please be flexible if we need to ask you to switch to a different spot!  And if you can volunteer for something in the first and second half or a Mom could do the first half and the Dad do the second that would be great!
• Communication:  We will mainly communicate via email and our Hampton Woods Hammerheads swim team Facebook page.  The page is private so just search for it in FB and request to join!
• Siblings During Practice:  We know many of you have siblings that you bring to practices.. As of now they can splash around in the shallow end but cannot go past the step.. there is no lifeguard on duty and we need to  make sure everyone is safe while we all focus on the swimmers that are practicing and we don't want to distract our coaches or swimmers.  If it becomes an issue with kids playing in the water and going past the step we will have no choice but to make there a no one in the water at all but the swimmers rule.  So please watch your kids and help enforce the no one past the step rule!  Thank you!!
